The box itself was exclusively designed by Experience Maine's founder. She had the idea to create a Maine Treasure Box while exploring a beach with her 4-year-old daughter. For years they have filled boxes and chests with treasures they find on their daily walks. She wanted to share some of Maine’s unique treasures with others.
